Hello and welcome to The Compost Bin. I'm Compostwoman and I live with my family in rural Herefordshire. We have nearly four acres of garden and woodland, all managed organically and to Permaculture principles, which we share with Chickens, Cats and assorted wildlife. We also grow a lot of our own food, run courses in all sorts of things and make a lot of compost!

I am a Master Composter and have spent more than a decade as a volunteer Community Compost adviser with Garden Organic and my local Council.
I'm a self employed Environmental Educator so I run workshops and events where I talk about compost, veg growing, chicken keeping, cooking, preserving and sustainable living. I also run crafts workshops and Forest School/outdoor play sessions in our wood.

We try to live a more self sufficient lifestyle here, as best we can, while still having a comfortable life and lots of fun.

Hello, welcome, and apologies.

Hello lovely readers

Thought it was time I welcomed some new followers to the blog, so hello to

Paid in Chickens, LuvMuskHunySukl, The Vintage Kitten, MrsHippo&Me, Rupert Neil Bumfrey, Northern mum down South, Tracy @ Cardmaker's Delights, alifrew and Wendy at Blue Borage
who all follow via Google Friends Connect.
and  welcome to my new followers on Bloglovin'. many apologies here -  I know there are lots of you who are new to the blog,  but the email feed telling me about new members seems to have been turned off, so I just know I have new followers but not who - again many apologies and I am contacting Bloglovin to see what is happening.

Could I ask if maybe you could re- follow using Google Friend Connect? Then I would know for sure who you all are and could welcome you properly :)

Anyway thank you and a warm welcome to The Compost Bin.

Don't forget to enter my Blog 7th birthday giveaway by leaving a comment on the post. I will be drawing a name in the next few days :)

  1. I was already following you on feedly, but just "joined" on your google friend connect link as well. Hard to keep track sometimes...even on my own blog!

Hello! Thank you for reading my blog and for commenting. I try to reply as quickly as I can and I really appreciate your interest in my life and doings here in The Compost Bin.
