Hello and welcome to The Compost Bin. I'm Compostwoman and I live with my family in rural Herefordshire. We have nearly four acres of garden and woodland, all managed organically and to Permaculture principles, which we share with Chickens, Cats and assorted wildlife. We also grow a lot of our own food, run courses in all sorts of things and make a lot of compost!

I am a Master Composter and have spent more than a decade as a volunteer Community Compost adviser with Garden Organic and my local Council.
I'm a self employed Environmental Educator so I run workshops and events where I talk about compost, veg growing, chicken keeping, cooking, preserving and sustainable living. I also run crafts workshops and Forest School/outdoor play sessions in our wood.

We try to live a more self sufficient lifestyle here, as best we can, while still having a comfortable life and lots of fun.

Giveaway! RHS Hampton Court Flower show tickets/Ecover Garden Pack




As I said yesterday I am very excited to be going to the fantastic RHS Hampton Court Flower Show in July, thanks to Ecover UK giving me two tickets.

I can't wait to look around the Inspire Zone and see The Ecover Garden, as well as the inspirational Ecover planters that have been designed by eight gardening celebrities.

I also can't wait to see all the other wonderful show gardens and displays. I am so looking forward to going, especially as I am taking my one of my best friends with me so we should have a wonderful day out. AND I am going to meet up with some other gardening bloggers when I get there :-)

I have two pairs of tickets to RHS Hampton Court Flower Show to give away, thanks to my lovely friends at Ecover UK, who are sponsoring the Inspire Zone at the show.  Each pair of tickets are for any one chosen day between 9th-14th July.

And for a third person  as a runner up prize, an Ecover Gardening Pack





You can’t buy a ‘Garden Pack’ from Ecover, they are selling it as an exclusive at Hampton Court. It contains  Heavy Duty Hand Cleaner, Washing Up Liquid and Compost Bags. 

Its lovely - I know because I have got one ;-)

  • The ticket winners will need to email me before midnight July 2nd to say which day they’d like to go to the Show, so I can pass their details and chosen show day on to lovely Lauren at Ecover. The tickets will be waiting for them at Hampton Court for collection on the day.
  • The runner up prize winner needs to email me their address, so I can pass on their details to Lauren at Ecover to send out the Gardening Pack to them.
  • The ticket winners are responsible for getting to and from Hampton Court under their own steam and at their own expense.

  • No cash alternative is available.

    Oh what a lovely prize, I would love to go to the Hampton Park Flower show, don't stick me in for the draw but I hope you have a good time. I have the two weeks after those dates booked off instead. Always next year though.

    I've used Ecover stuff ever since we moved to this house where we have a septic tank. Love all their stuff and I've never been to a flower show!

      I am a follower but it came up under my own name! So I am one of those people with just a shadow head! Have realised we prob wouldn't be able to go to Hampton Court due to Him Outside having nasty things done in hospital just about that time.

    We've been chemical-free gardeners for 20years now., but never tried any Ecover products. I went to the Hampton Court show many years ago. It was brilliant!

    I have never been to Hampton Court Flower Show, or any of the BIG garden shows, very remiss of me!!

      Am very pleased to be given the tickets by Ecover - also to go with my friend, - she works very hard, long hours so I am so glad she could come with me.

      Not been to Hampton Court, no - its a long way to go from here. Go to Malvern (of course) and been to Tatton and Chelsea in the past.

    Hi, having just transferred over my reading list to Bloglovin I have discovered your blog and think I am going to really enjoy reading it. I'd love some tickets to Hampton Court as I've always wanted to go. If I'm not successful I'm happy that I now know when it is, which has done me a great favour.     Four reasons why I would like to win the Hampton Court flower show tickets.

    1. We live a short bus ride away so no problem with transport so really could make it.

    2 As some one with COPD I use Ecover products because they are unperfumed so I don't cough.

    3 I think husband and I bought a load of soft fruit from you and your daughter, then aged about ten. We were staying at Holme Lacey and wanted to take fresh products back to London with us.

      Did you buy lots of plums? I seem to remember a couple who stopped and bought eggs, plums and maybe some chutney? :-)
