Hello and welcome to The Compost Bin. I'm Compostwoman and I live with my family in rural Herefordshire. We have nearly four acres of garden and woodland, all managed organically and to Permaculture principles, which we share with Chickens, Cats and assorted wildlife. We also grow a lot of our own food, run courses in all sorts of things and make a lot of compost!
I am a Master Composter and have spent more than a decade as a volunteer Community Compost adviser with Garden Organic and my local Council.
I'm a self employed Environmental Educator so I run workshops and events where I talk about compost, veg growing, chicken keeping, cooking, preserving and sustainable living. I also run crafts workshops and Forest School/outdoor play sessions in our wood.
We try to live a more self sufficient lifestyle here, as best we can, while still having a comfortable life and lots of fun.

RIP Mango
If she had been younger, maybe she would have had a better chance , but as an already elderly rescue guinea pig sadly it was not to be.
RIP Mango lovely piggie.
Aw, sorry to hear about Mango.
ReplyDeleteThank you Hazel; it was sad :( Compostgirl was very upset as they are her piggies :(
DeleteI had a right good cry every time we had to put ours down. Don't have any mow.
ReplyDeleteYes it is very sad :( We were all upset :(
DeleteOh! Poor Mango - and poor you! Looking at WitchHazel's comment, I noticed they were Compostgirl's guinea pigs so give her my sympathies (my guinea pig died last year and my daughter was distraught, we had to ring up the school and check she was OK!). Her poor little friends as well, it must be very confusing for them! Fudge and June isn't it? Lovely, distinguished names! Did you choose them? And how are they - we haven't received any guinea pig updates lately! =D
ReplyDeleteBig hugs x :(
Sadly poor (very) old Fudge also had to be pts this week :( She got a respititory infection which did not respond to treatment and went downhill and stopped eating :( Vet thought she probably had a tumour as well. So we are down to one piggle, Juniper, now. She is old as well :(
