Hello and welcome to The Compost Bin. I'm Compostwoman and I live with my family in rural Herefordshire. We have nearly four acres of garden and woodland, all managed organically and to Permaculture principles, which we share with Chickens, Cats and assorted wildlife. We also grow a lot of our own food, run courses in all sorts of things and make a lot of compost!
I am a Master Composter and have spent more than a decade as a volunteer Community Compost adviser with Garden Organic and my local Council.
I'm a self employed Environmental Educator so I run workshops and events where I talk about compost, veg growing, chicken keeping, cooking, preserving and sustainable living. I also run crafts workshops and Forest School/outdoor play sessions in our wood.
We try to live a more self sufficient lifestyle here, as best we can, while still having a comfortable life and lots of fun.

Blogger update - am investigating Wordpress(!)
I have no idea if I can do a straight forward copy accross ( I suspect not) but I will keep you all posted as to what is going on. I promise I will not just abandon Blogger and leave you all dangling, my post...
Although why any of you read my ramblings is always a bit of a mystery to me, tbh ;-) I am pleased you do, though :-)
Blogger does capture a lot of my spam and stores it in the spam folder. Just a matter of skimming through it and dumping the lot. However, a few get through, but while I am at home the computer is on most of the day so I come back to it and check regularly, thus keeping on top of it. Comment moderation has helped a lot in that nothing gets published without my say so. I won't put word verification on because I struggle with it when I comment on other peoples blogs.
ReplyDeleteRegarding Wordpress. When I have posted a comment on a Wordpress blog it asks for an email address, then I get bombarded with spam emails, so I won't comment any more. Difficult to know what to do. I think Blogger should upgrade their equipment to stop spam before it reaches us. Bugger, now I can't read the number in word verification, I'll have a guess.
We LOVE your ramblings!!
ReplyDeleteI hope you can get this sorted, it is a bl**dy nuisance at times, they seem to come in flurries these spammers.
Good luck.
Sue xx
I check my spam folder regualrly Meanqueen and delete it - I did so a few days ago ( after Christmas Day, certainly - I just looked again and there were more than 2500 spam messages...!
ReplyDeleteAnd those are the ones Blogger picks up, never mind the ones which get into my inbox for moderation by me
"tears hair in frustration"
Thank you Sue :-) Nice of you to say so :-)
