Hello and welcome to The Compost Bin. I'm Compostwoman and I live with my family in rural Herefordshire. We have nearly four acres of garden and woodland, all managed organically and to Permaculture principles, which we share with Chickens, Cats and assorted wildlife. We also grow a lot of our own food, run courses in all sorts of things and make a lot of compost!

I am a Master Composter and have spent more than a decade as a volunteer Community Compost adviser with Garden Organic and my local Council.
I'm a self employed Environmental Educator so I run workshops and events where I talk about compost, veg growing, chicken keeping, cooking, preserving and sustainable living. I also run crafts workshops and Forest School/outdoor play sessions in our wood.

We try to live a more self sufficient lifestyle here, as best we can, while still having a comfortable life and lots of fun.

Cats!

  1. What little darlings. Have you noticed over the past few weeks they are inside more. Sootie, our ten year old has a little arthritis and seems to spend nearly 22 hours a day asleep in the warmest part of the house.

  2. They are all adorable! My two cats seem to spend most of their time indoors at the moment.. they prefer the comfort of a soft cushion or duvet depending on whatever takes their fancy. They do however like to come on walks with me when I take the dog... its quite a sight I can tell you... a dog bounding around and two cats meandering behind.... and me somewhere in the middle!!!

  3. Its me again... I just wanted to thank you for letting me know where you purchase your essential oils from. I have managed to find all of the companies and now have links to them saved on my computer. I am keen to try them all out has and when the pennies allow! How would I contact you on the INEBG forum? as I am not sure how that works.
    Thanks once again!!

  5. Hello lovely blog friends!

I have noticed that the pusss' ALL are sleeping much more anywhere warm and for longer recently! Tom and Tabitha are on our bed between us most of the night now, and Kitty has a heated bed ( which Compostman made for him a few years ago...) in the loft of our garage.

Sid sleeps on the sofa in the sitting room all night, unless there are some clean , ironed clothes in a pile somewhere..........

I have more cute cat pictures waiting...you have been warned........
